hello there!
&:o)
I'm trying to clean out all the misc stuff on my computer and in doing so, found some pics that I wanted to pass along before I deleted them.
Deniro turned 4 on May 5, 2008 (Cinco de Mayo!) We had a birfday party for him at a really cool playground near us (John Story Jenks playground). Deniro & 5 little boys partied hearty at his Rescue Hero and Big Machines birfday party. Sarah had gotten some plastic hard hats from ebay and I made a little sticker for each one that had the little dude's name on it. They all loved their hard hats and wore them for the whole party --- plus, a couple of them were still wearing their's to day care the following week. His cake was decorated to look like a construction site. An excellent time was had by all.

Here's a picture of Wembley slepping in our bedroom closet. I love her soooo much.

Here's another pic that I took at the farm the other weekend, when I was trying to learn how to use my new camera.
And here's another pic from the farm --- Look! It's Happy Vase!
Here is a pic of Sarah & Deniro & Jim (Sarah's fiance/Deniro's daddy) back in May when we went to a Spring Celebration day in Chestnut Hill:
Here's a pic of Elle, Eric, Amber, Gillian & Hayden also back in May at the same Spring Celebration day:
And here's a close-up of Hayden --- probably the most photogenic baby in the entire universe!! (hee-hee!)

Hello!
Happy Frickin' Monday. . .
[[ DAMN! Either my screwed up work computer or Vox itself has been making it really really difficult for me to get a post with these pictures included in it!!! This will be ( if it actually WORKS this time ) my 4th or 5th time trying to post this.....
waaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh...
And what I ORIGINALLY started out to post is: ]]
Maybe I have carpal tunnel in my left wrist --- I don't know. It started hurting in different ways a couple of years ago, and got worse/different over time. I do data entry for a living, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's what this is. A couple of months ago, the pain got so excrutiating that I broke down and bought one of those hand/wrist braces from the drug store, to see if that helps. It was pricey for me, but I got the brace and I'm finding that it really makes a HUGE difference. I wear it all day for a bunch of days in a row, and then am able to go without it for a day. It's not attractive, but it helps.
So what did I forget to wear today??? Yep --- my brace. My wrist already hurts so badly that I know I'm not going to be doing a whole hell of alot of commenting on Vox today. ( Doing my * exciting * data entry work is going to be more than enough typing...) So here I am for a couple of minutes.
My daughter Elle (as you may know) is pregnant with her 3rd child.( a little boy! ) She & her hubby Eric & their 2 girls were over yesterday for the day & dinner. In her 5th month, her tummy is already getting big and round. When she was pregnant with Gillian, people couldn't even tell she was pregnant up until her last month --- even THEN it was one of those instances where people were almost afraid to ask her " um... are you pregnant? " because they were afraid of offending her, her tummy was THAT little. --- Not THIS pregnancy though --- she's looking beautiful and round and definately pregnant already.
We had a good day together. The kids played nicely - Amber told me about her week at G.S. horse camp - the adults talked about this & that - we prepared a yummy dinner & then had cupcakes & ice cream for Elle's 32nd birthday - it was a good day. &:o)
This morning, Deniro marches into the bathroom while I'm getting ready for work, and points down to his misshapen fat lumpy belly (which is obviously a stuffed toy shoved up under his little t-shirt.) He says " Look Tutu. I have a baby in my belly. "
I say " Oh wow ! Is it a boy baby or a girl baby? "
He thinks for a second and says " It's a puppy dog."
Then he leaves the bathroom and goes back to his mommy Sarah, where he then has his baby - a stuffed puppy dog that I got for him from Old Navy when he was born ... Heh-heh...
My hand/wrist is hurting...Here's where I stop now.
I'll leave you with this: It's an email forward that Elle sent me the other day. Enjoy!
Woman is Abagail Alfano of Pine, Louisiana-she did not do it for a lark but had studied them daily and one morning put the cup from feeder with water in it and they had gotten used to her standing by the feeder and came over to her hand. She says in touching they are as light as a feather. Said if had known her husband would take pictures she would have put on makeup !!
Wouldn't it be * awesome * to be able to let wee tiny buzzy hummingbirds sup out of your hand and alight on your fingers!!!???

* * * * * I hope you all have a good week! * * * * *
Sweet little old Wembley is feeling * ALL BETTER * now!
She finished up all of her meds and is completely back to normal.
She feels like she MAY have heffed-up a teeny bit (her teeny tummy feels a leeettle firmer again.) Her little mouthesis is healed up & she's eating like normal again. (Although she HAS developed a love of baby food meat, now...)
All the lofs & good wishes of her Vox neighbors helped her feel better...
&:o)
Here's Wonderful Wembley enjoying a little tummy rubbin' & head scritchy-in' from two of her friends --- my granddaughters Amber ( on the left ) and Gillian ( on the right.) This picture is from a week ago, when my daughter Ellen & her family came to our place to celebrate Deniro's 3rd birfday. Lounging on the top of the couch like she is in the picture, is one of Wembley's favorite places to perch. ( and --- look --- she's even got the power of * teh * yeems * back! )
&:o)
P.S. Check out the * floofy * tail, y'all . . . &:o)
Sunday, Sarah, Deniro & I went to my daughter Elle's house for the day. We celebrated the Easter holiday AND Gillian's 2nd birthday both at the same time. When we got there, there was an Egg Hunt for Gillian & Deniro ( 9 year old Amber, who knows " the truth " about The Easter Bunny, helped me hide the eggs for the younger ones. ) Later, Gillian opened her birthday gifts. Then for dinner we had an * AMAZING * Easter dinner --- with Sesame Street birthday cupcakes for desert.
It was a seriously nice day. &:o)
I used to make fun of people who had t-shirts or bumper stickers that said " Ask me about my grandchildren... " .
Ironically, now I feel like I should get some of that merchandise for ME. ( Although mine would have to say " Ask me about my grandchildren or my cat... " )
So --- one of the cute things that cracked me up on Sunday was this:
We were at the table, eating the Sesame Street birthday cupcakes.
Deniro was sitting in a regular chair at the table ( all that you could see above the table line was his head ) next to Gillian, who was in her high chair.
Deniro will be 3 in May, but technically, he's still only 2.
Gillian just turned 2.
Gillian's parents don't let her drink soda very often, but they had let her have a small amount in her cup for a birthday treat.
Deniro still had soda in his glass.
Gillian drank her little bit of soda & started fussing because she wanted more. Her daddy gave her a cup of water and she started fussing MORE because she didn't WANT the stinkin' water, she wanted soda. Her parents calmly told her that she had to drink her water instead.
Deniro is watching the whole fuss, and afterwards, with a BIG smile on his little face, he looks up at Gillian and says:
"No soda for YOU, little baby"
and picks up his own glass of soda and chugs it down, all pleased with his little self...
Sometimes my grandkids just crack me up. &:o)
When I followed the link from roisin's blog to the "ICanHasCheezburger" website today, I found this picture:
The dejected look on the poor puppy's face got to me, BUT --- the "prolly" got to me even more. My 2 1/2 year old grandson, Deniro, and his mommy live with me. I had the whole "empty nest thing" going on a bunch of years ago, but then last summer, Sarah and Deniro moved in with me --- so I'm adjusting to having a little dude around again. Sometimes he's adorable and as "good as gold and better". Sometimes you could just eat him all up with a spoon, he's THAT sweet.
OTHER times...he is NOT...
Anyway ---
He is talkative, but still a little hard to understand sometimes --- and when he ISN'T hard to understand, he says words in that slightly mispronounced toddler kind of way. Usually when he learns a new word or a new phrase, he says it ALOT. ( I guess he's practicing it, seeing how it feels and when it's acceptable to use it, etc. )
He picked up the word "probably" the other week --- so he works that word into alot of our conversations at the moment. He pronounces it "probly".
Now you see why the picture's caption reminded me of Deniro --- now in regards to the dejected look on the puppy's face:
Each weekday morning, I drive Sarah & Deniro to his daycare, where she runs him inside and then afterwards, Sarah & me continue on into work together.
Some days, Deniro doesn't want to go to daycare. When he says he doesn't want to go, his mommy tells him basically that he has to go anyway. ( Then of course, she tells him how much fun he'll have, etc.)
So the dejected doggie in the picture talking about "prolly" reminded me of the morning last week when - We're driving down the block that the daycare is on --- We're waiting at the red traffic light, with the daycare in view across the intersection - the car's all quiet, but from the back seat comes a soft little DEJECTED voice, saying:
" i probly has to go to daycare today..."
( heh-heh...made me smile again just thinking about it... &:o)
Here's a picture taken a couple of months ago of me and Deniro:
See??? I TOLD you --- COULDN'T you just eat him all up with a spoon?
Also --- while I'm thinking about it --- here is a picture of the xmas stocking that I made for him this past xmas. I had made my oldest granddaughter, Amber, a stocking when she was little --- it had bumblebees on it, because she loved bumblebees then. When Gillian came along, I made her a stocking also --- with a gingerbread man ( HER favorite. ) ---- So I had to make Deniro one, too --- he LOVES anything that has to do with trucks, cars, construction machines --- you get the picture.
I hope everyone is well --- happy and healthy.
I always enjoy talking with you guys . . . what a nice neighborhood I have! &:o)
Over the past weekend, my oldest daughter, Elle, told me that she is *pregnant* again!
&:o)
Elle and Eric are already the proud parents of 9 year old Amber, and soon-to-be 2 year old Gillian. They're both WONDERFUL parents --- everybody's happy & healthy --- and baby # 3 is very lucky to have chosen such a loving family to join up with.
Elle & Eric's third child will be my 5th grandchild!
When Elle was pregnant with her first child, we wanted to pick out the name that the baby would call me. I didn't want to just use mommom or nannan, which is what my kids called my parents/what I called my grandparents. We found a book that listed all the different names for grandparents around the world. The Hawaiian name for grandmother is "Tutu". I instantly thought that was THE best name ever, because 1.) I had studied for years to become a dancer (get it? "tutu"?) and 2.) it just sounded darned *cute*! So, "Tutu" it was.
I always love hearing my grandkids call me by my name. &:o) It's so unique, plus I STILL think it sounds darned *cute* --- especially when it's a teeny tiny liddle person saying it!
So ---- come this November, I am going to become a Tutu again!
&:o)
Here's a picture of Amber & Gillian from the past xmas ( of 2006.) ( In xmas 2007's picture, there will be THREE grandkids!)
* Yay! *
This past sunday, we had a family get-together at my daughter Elle's house. We all live KIND OF NEAR each other-ish...but with our different/busy schedules and the distance that IS there, it makes it sadly hard for ALL of us to get together very often.
We all went to Elle & Eric's house ( Amber & Gillian are their daughters ). My daughter Sarah & her son Deniro ( who both live with me ), Sam & Steph & Sylvahna (my son & his wife & their daughter ), Sandy ( my oldest brother Dick's widow ) and 2 of her daughters Barb ( & her teenaged son Kameron ) and Lisa ( & her teenaged daughter Shantel ) were all there.
It was a REALLY nice day!
Elle & Eric are such warm and welcoming hosts! They have family & friends over alot and everyone always feels so comfortable and at home there.
We had pizza & soda & chocolate desserts. ( *yum!* )
The four youngest kids ( my four grandchildren ) all enjoyed playing with each other.
We talked about what's happening in our lives, & tv shows that we all enjoy, & just enjoyed being together and sharing the day.
We watched the DVDs that my brother Don had sent me the other month --- the 8mm home videos that my parents had taken 30 some years ago. That was fun looking back on all of those good times, plus we were laughing at ourselves too. ( When the camera showed 10 year old Barb bopping along wearing those 70's SHORT boxer-type shorts plus KNEE SOCKS . . . Barb says to her mother Sandy "Oh my god! Why did you make me dress like that!?" and Sandy replies "You Dressed Yourself!!!" Then of course Barb's teenaged son Kameron starts cutting on her 70's fashion sense...&:o)
It was a really nice day. I love my family and I wish we were able to get together more often.
Up there on the couch is : 1 1/2 year old Gillian ( who was NOT happy about sitting there because someone said that I was going to squish her...), me with 2 1/2 year old Deniro on my lap, 4 year old Sylvahna, and 9 year old Amber.
Good Times . . . &:o)
P.S.
And here's another pic that I just got --- it's my 4 grands again, plus this time, my great-niece Shantel is there too. (See??? Gillian isn't crying yet, because nobody told her that I was going to sit on her and SQUISH her yet...&:o)
When I first got this blog I wanted to be able to regularly put time and thought into posting on it, and checking in with the neighborhood & what's happening in everyone else's lives. I started off well enough, but my JOB has been recking havoc with my blogging intentions...
&:o(
During the day, I work at an inbound call center (which is the only computer access I have.) Whenever I try to blog....my phone rings. Doesn't it figure.
So I miss out on being able to contemplate and try to be disciplined and creative and post semi-regularly --- and I miss being able to sneak little glimpses into the other CO peeps' lives semi-regularly.
Today's post is just a couple of things that are roaming aimlessly in the caverns of my brain:
1. I put the *ELEPHANT* background on my blog because *EPHALUMPS* are wonderful critters and also because my 2 year old grandson is going to BE an elephant for Halloween this year. &:o)
2. Here's a picture of 3 of my 4 grandchildren: Tiny wee pixie-ish "naughty" 1 1/2 year old Gillian, her big sister soon to be 9 year old Amber who is SUCH a pleasure to be with no matter WHAT you're doing (and who has started learning to play the violin!) and "I'm a Big Boy!" 2 1/2 year old Deniro who has SOOOOO much ENERGY (if ONLY I could find some way to BORROW some of it...) * * * I also have a wispy long-leggitty soon to be 4 year old granddaughter Sylvahna who looks like a little Fairy child who was lost in the woods and someday her Fairy family will find her and give her her beautiful Fairy wings. &:o)
3. I'm MISSING *Summer* already...For the sake of my 2 year old grandson who lives with me, I must TRY to muster some enthusiasm for the Fall season and Winter and the "festive" holidays that accompany those seasons (which I normally DREAD..... along with the shorter/darker cold days and the sense of sadness that those seasons normally make me feel...) My legs are already hating wearing nylons.....and my feet and toesies are dying to be wearing flipflops.
&:o(
4. The teensy weensy SEAL PUP that I saw on CO yesterday was probably * THE * CUTEST * thing that I will ever see in this lifetime!!!!! I'm sure I'm not the only one that wants to scoop the wee little wet one up in my arms and * smooch * smooch * smooch * his teeny tiny head senseless! Am I correct?
5. I heard a funny quote yesterday and I'll leave you with that:
"Sincerity is everything --- and if you can fake THAT, you've got it made."
GEORGE BURNS

( and I sincerely mean that ! )
* * * I hope everything is well in all or your little corners of the world, friends. * * * Happy Thursday ! * * *
